Ernesto Rancaño

La Habana, 1968 – La Habana, 2022

He graduated in the San Alejandro Academy of Fine Arts in 1991. He is a member of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC) and the International Association of Plastic Artists (AIAP).

Possessor of a prolific and diverse work, his pieces cause placidity or shock, uncertainty or clarity, pain or pleasure. In his works he shows a plurality of expressive ways, which transits from painting to sculpture, engraving and photography, making beauty his inspiring and compelling core. The universe of the feminine, its complexities and mysteries have been other of the neuralgic points of his production throughout his career.

His work has also been present in centers, museums and galleries like: Brande Art Oy, Helsinki (Finland); Marlborough Chelsea, New York (USA); Centre for Cuban Studies, New York (USA); Espacio 304 Gallery, London (England) and ONU Headquarters, Geneva (Switzerland); Buenos Aires Museum of Fine Arts, La Plata (Argentina); Museum of Modern Art of Bogota (Colombia).
