LaKole presents Dogma on September 27 in Madrid.

“DOGMA” is the result of a partnership between La Kole, a Barcelona-based collection, and the art studio La Caja Muda, committed to the production and dissemination of contemporary art. This collaboration has shaped a powerful and urgent exhibition due to the profound relocation of Cuban artistic production. This exhibition intersects the perspectives of a generation of artists who have expanded the boundaries of artistic practice in Cuba.
Bringing together in this project are Carlos Alfonzo, Yoan Capote, Los Carpinteros, Carlos Garaicoa, Adrián Melis, Jorge Otero, René Peña, Dagoberto Rodríguez, Elio Rodríguez, and Guibert Rosales—names who, from different trajectories, materials, and discourses, articulate a critical, poetic, and insightful vision of identity, memory, power, architecture, the body, and the diaspora.
Each work brought together here proposes a different way of addressing the social tensions existing inside and outside of Cuba, without falling into clichés or nostalgia. There is humor, confrontation, irony, and beauty in pieces that challenge both the political and the formal.
This exhibition is not a showcase, it’s a dialogue. It’s a space of resonance between the collection and the studio, between the island context and the global stage, between artists who—from within or outside the island—continue to rethink what it means to create.
